Diantha Averett was born in Utah in 1873. She became the wife of William Alfred Ford and lived in Kanab.
BEESLEY
Adam Beesley was born in Kaysville in 1885. He married our relation, Mary Agnes Lightfoot who came from Cumberland. Children Elizabeth, Willard, May, Estella, Jennie and margery were born to this couple.
BROWN/BUNTING/BURNHAM
Three girls who married into the Ford family of Kanab were Thelma Brown (born 1897 in Kanab), Ellen Elizabeth Bunting (born 1861 in Salt Lake City) and Clara Alvira Burnham (born 1899 in Richmond). The Bunting family moved from East Anglia in England to Utah.
CROSBY
Jacob Hamblin Crosby was born in Kanab in 1876. He married Luella Ford, their children Maine, Sherman, Jack, Nellie and Neil were born in the early 1900s.
DURRANT
In 1892, John Edward Durrant married Minnie Elizabeth Baxter whose ancestry lies in East Anglia, England and is part of our own family tree. Ten children were born to this couple, the eldest, Robert Edward, dying in France during the First World War.
FARR
Laura May Farr was born in 1904 in Utah and married into the Lightfoot family.
FORD
Edwin Ford came from Staffordshire originally and was eventually to settle in Kanab . With his four wives he had seventeen children, some of whom are on our family tree. There are many descendants of this Ford family, many of whom we have traced while others have still to be found.
GIBSON
James Forbes Gibson was born in 1882 in Utah and married Elizabeth Lightfoot in 1920. To date, two children, Carlisle and Thomas have been found in this family.
HOLLAND
Christopher Holland was born in Ogden in 1871 and married Hannah Forrester from Cumberland. By 1902, they were living in Kaysville where their daughter Hannah was born.
LIGHTFOOT
Lightfoot is a name we have researched for decades for it plays an important part in our own ancestry. Distant cousins, Thomas and Mary Jane Lightfoot emigrated with their large family in 1907, their 15th child being born in Utah. Their descendants in America are many.
OLSON
Robert Olson married Grace Durrant in 1928. He was one of the 13 known children of Robert and Christina.
POORTE
Poorte was the married name of one of the daughters of the Lightfoot family who trace back to Cumberland, England. Children Glen, Thomas and Elmer were born in the 1920s.
YOUNG
Another link to the Ford family is the Young family of Kanab. James Adolpha Young married Susan For, their children being Marson, Melva, Lucile, Clifton, Remo and Zola.
