BALL
Both born in England, Jonathan Ball and Annie Fell married in Missouri in 1884. The marriage was followed by the births of two children, Mary Jane and Jim, before the family decided to return to live in the county of Derbyshire where Jonathan had been born.
FELL
Several members of the Fell family of northern England emigrated to the USA, one branch making their home in Missouri at Rich Hill. Harrison Fell was the head of one family and his parents also emigrated to be with their children in the USA.
FRANCE
Another important name on our family tree is France from Cumberland . We only know of one member of this family who moved to the USA, that being Joseph Banks France who married Mary Heisel in Missouri and had a daughter named Elsie, born in 1894. We believe Elsie married Percy Thomas Armitage in Kansas City and had a son named Thomas.
LIGHTFOOT
William Lightfoot left the United Kingdom, appearing to leave his current wife and family behind. They certainly did not follow him and it would appear that he remarried in 1906 in Missouri before moving on to settle in Nebraska for some years.
WHITLOCK
Aubrey Whitlock was born in Missouri around 1907. He married Hilda Benson from Allerby in Cumberland who, for reasons as yet unknown, travelled to Honolulu in 1928 and later moved to Los Angeles. Likewise, much is yet to be discovered about Aubrey who worked as an accountant.
ZIMMERMAN
Fred and Charles Zimmerman were the children of Mary Heisel’s first marriage. They lived with their mother and stepfather (Joseph B France) at the time of the 1900 census.
